Youth Speaks encourages youth-to-youth mentoring and empowerment through peer education and leadership. Utilizing this belief system in our educational material, youth are presented with work from their peers to analyze, critique and further engage.

Our educational tools work to create an avenue where all youth can see themselves in the creative process and bear witness to their own inherent, individual talents and abilities. Through our spoken word CDs and DVDs, youth anthologies, Educational Guides and curricula, spoken word performances and theatrical presentations, youth are able to see a tangible link between learning and their own selves. By making this important connection between the text that they read, the art that they see and the words that they speak, youth are challenged to take ownership of their own world and their unique voice.
