Katri Foster is a 22 year old Berkeley, CA native. She has been writing since 14 years old, and has since shared stages with Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Dave Eggers, devora major, Janice Mirikitani, Al Young, Mos Def, and many other literary luminaries. She was the 2005 Youth Speaks Teen Poetry Slam Champion, co-wrote and performed in Cause, a collaboration with Robert Moses Kin, and published her first poetry collection, First, the Good News through First Word Press at age 19. She is also a proud member of both the Youth Speaks Brave New Voices College Tour, and the Green Team.

When she is not working at Youth Speaks or performing, Katri enjoys baking French pastries, cooking Vietnamese food, walking around Berkeley with her dog, and camping in the Stanislaus National Forest.
